Resumo
The proper Strategic Alignment represents a key factor within the Information Technology (IT) value adding; therefore this matter stands for a large amount of research in the Information System (IS) discipline. Due to the rapid IT development and the highly competitive environment, the comprehensive understanding of the IT Strategic Alignment structure and its key mechanisms has became a significant challenger. The main objective of this study is to create theoretical framework regarding the IT Strategic Alignment within hospitals, contemplating the vision of the actors from this organizations. The research, with eighteen (18) superintendents, managers and area coordinator from five (5) hospitals, was based on the grounded theory methodology. The emerging framework suggests the IT functional integration throughout the implementation of hospital information systems (HIS) and the strong influence of the sociocultural aspects. It supports to understanding the main factors relating to a particular hospital, and the proposition of the critical elements leading to find a customized Strategic Alignment. The articulation of the framework's concepts suggests that the sophistication of the appropriated planning and implementation process, play an important rule to reducing the adversities create by the particularities the IT Strategic Alignment with hospitals.
