The freight transport sector is currently one of the most important sectors of the Brazilian economy, why this study intends to conduct a review of the strategy applied to the provision of services with a focus in this mode, since it is scarce number of studies devoted to understanding this segment in particular. So this research aims to analyze the strategic aspects of provision of services and the assumption to be calibrated to the end, that these companies follow and adopt non-formal business strategies and predominantly empirical, little aligned to expected competitive advantages to industry. The theoretical content this understood in search with the primary function of basing the perceptions harvested in field and to give consistency to qualitative research conducted with the transportation companies in this segment.
