Objective - The presentation of Nakata Teaching Case aims to provide learning, based on real facts, close and timely, about the importance of alignment, coordination and collaboration in distribution chains, as well as increasing responsiveness and visibility in the chain. Combining practice and theory to elicit actions and decisions from experiences and concepts learned by students and participants. Design / Methodology / Approach – As a Teaching Case, the design of writing and availability of documentation is done with the narrative of the case and making statements through unstructured interviews, with the main characters involved in the case. As well as the provision in data attachments that can help in solving the problems and challenges presented. This approach aims to bring knowledge from what is built by classroom participants. Results - The work hopes to result in the improvement of the theoretical and practical knowledge of the students, in the identification and analysis of problems, in the decision making and structuring of action plans, through the experience of a real case. Limitations / Implications of the research - The literature on Teaching Cases itself points out some limitations on the method. Teaching cases have a time-limited presence, so this case is being written in real-time with updated data. The motivation of the students is to be obtained and the method depends on their application, which requires a previous preparation so that the learning takes place completely. Originality / Value - The value of Nakata Teaching Case is to understand three points: to be Brazilian in an important part of the time of implantation and consolidation, since from 2015 the company was bought by a group of Brazilian investors, to be timely and to be centered on decisions in the area of logistics.
