Resumo
This research discusses the challenges related to regulatory issues in Brazil. It stresses the historical political-institutional factors that could encompass regulatory advances in the country. The existing literature will be reviewed, and major debates at federal level will be followed specially on the aspects concerning agencies´autonomy. The international experience with enphasis on UK case will also be reviewed.
