Resumo
This paper deals with credit cards and consumer behavior. It is studied the relationship between the expected value and billed credit card invoice with the consumer's intention to continue using credit card in new purchases. To do so, a descriptive search was done using a structured questionnaire, with a sample of 267 respondents. Chi-square tests of independence suggest that the discrepancy between expected Invoice credit card and the real value submitted by the issuing bank does not influence the client's intention to continue using credit card. Moreover, the difference between observed and expected values of invoices card depends more on the habits and customs of use, than demographic characteristics (such as gender, age, income, marital status and education). This paper also covers suggestions mentioned by participants about new features that banks could use to help consumers to have a better control of their spending and the invoice value.
