Resumo
The development of this academic project aimed mainly to research the financial futures contracts, mainly those negotiated at the Bolsa Mercantil & Futuros - BMF. Although, there are several excellent north american books and articles stressing the USA future markets and its features, I decided to apply the same framework for the brazilian financial future instruments and its practices. The result of this work endeavors to fulfill an existing gap between the fundamentals and the practices of futures performed by professionals at the local financial market. Therefore, I presume that my effort in complete this research will be of some important value for those engaged in teaching the practices of this subject at the brazilian business schools.
