This research is an extension of the doctoral thesis named 'Studying Configurational Technology Implementation: A Mediation Process', which focus of analysis was the mediation process in ERP implementations. Mediation Process is the process where clients and consultants jointly influence the decisions that are made about how the system will be configured. Based on this analysis, some patterns were identified in the mediation process, establishing associations between them and the final results of the implementation. Our research seeks to analyze the implementation process of configurational technologies, more precisely ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, under the same basis of the Canadian project described above, but focused at Brazilian companies. Our results will be compared to those of the Canadian research, seeking to identify differences and similarities and their impact at the result of the implementation. Our objective is to promote a better understanding about the ERP implementation process, and to contribute to minimize the risk of the failure of this kind of project at Brazilian companies.
