Resumo
This paper examines the role of the Brazilian Government Agency for Law Enforcement and Prosecution through an analysis of the current profile of the institution and a demonstration on how corruption happens in Brazil, since the time of colonization. We also show some manners that the National Congress found to fight against it. The focus of the work is based on the analysis of the Act 8429, which regulates the administrative misconduct, by studying the means of parquet’s acting provided in our legislation. Some data gathered by the Brazilian Government Agency itself are shown in this work in order to point the relevance of their work to combat improper conduct and to promote the defense of the society’s rights.
