Resumo
It describes the development of Realengo, suburb of Rio de Janeiro, and its references to the Military School, who worked there between 1913 and 1944. The material patrimony of the school and reports of it members and neighborhood residents to support the analysis of the establishment of military areas in the region, taken as points of articulation of issues related to heritage and memory. The spaces studied illustrate the concept of memory places, considering the environment in support of the collective memory.
