The centennial automotive industry, one of the responsible for the conduction of the world-wide economy through the long century XX, has led and also has been a target of intense changes provoked by consolidation of the globalization processes, resulting in an extreme level of competition, whose scene covers all the levels of its productive chain. Today we are testifying the leadership constructed through the last century, by the American giant General Motors being exceeded by the Japanese Toyota. The global competition does not process any more by isolated companies but among entire supply chain, whose management exceeds the formal relations among the companies becoming even more complex and extremely hard to predict and keep stability. On the other hand, the lack of analysis models that could assist in the processes of management of the supply chain and its links persists in both academic and organizational environment, so that decisions are taken based on experience and intuition, keeping out several important variables. The main proposal and the contribution of this research had been the development and validation of a methodology to identify the mental model and translate into a causal diagram, using as a case study a Brazilian characteristic automotive industry supply chain, which was the pioneer in the implantation and trust the concept of modular consortium and condominium. In order to complete this research, in a exploratory base, a computer simulation model was developed to observe the output of the system due to the variation in one of the input variables.
