Resumo
This research took place in 1999.The objective was to trace the profile of Human Resource Management in the Great São Paulo area, interviewing 100 HR executives of medium and big companies, randomly selected. The following characteristics were observed: area structure, recruiting and selection processes, benefits, career management, area perspectives and problems, among others. The Evaluation of activities and roles of HR, proposed by Ulrich e Conner (1998), was also used.
