Resumo
This paper aims to discuss the relationship between media and State under an unusual perspective, which takes into account the place of news vendors in the supply chain for printed press, and points to the political role of distribution systems for the model of economic organization in the press of the country. Based on Brazilian experience, one can argue that the news vendors are rarely perceived the full extent of what they represent, but the historical period presented by the Age Vargas is na exemplary laboratory for this observation.
