Resumo
The purpose of this research project is to provide a general idea of the main features to be considered while making strategic decisions on IT investment. It discusses the impact IT has on organizations and suggests methods that can be used to assess tangible and intangible benefits of the investment on IT. There is a brief discussion on decision analysis and the way some of the new software tools can help humans make rational decisions. It, finally, provides an example of the use of a simple multi-criteria model (SMARTS) as a support tools for the decision processo.
