The main theme of this study is to describe and analyze the assessment methodology adopted by the State Health Secretariat of São Paulo to evaluate the hospitals run by OSS, located in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. The aim is to describe and analyze the dimensions selected by CGCSS - Coordination of Health Services Contract Management and identify indicators and information generated by the OSS and sent routinely to CGCSS, in addition to actions taken in relation to the results of the indicators and goals. This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research, and analyzed technical documents and conducted semi-structured interviews with technicians from the State Secretariat of Health of São Paulo and with members of the Implementation of the Evaluation Committee of Management Contracts of Sociais.Conclui- Organizations that the performance evaluation methodology of OSS meets the requirements of steady state law by law No. 846/98, through the control of the indicators agreed in advance. But the methodology lacks indicators to assess the quality of service and use of resources financeiros.Um relevant factor in relation to the research was the lack of access to data, which is the lack of publicity of the data from the SES / SP. But with the help of some members of the committee it was possible to access, for understanding be public information.
