Resumo
Electronic commerce use is spreading out and is related to the fast growing use of the Internet and the Web. Although it is mainly directed to the private sector, electronic commerce needs government support to keep a consistent development. One of the ways governments can help electronic commerce is by using it themselves. This work evaluates electronic commerce use through a Web site analysis at city, state and federal government level and also by an investigation on the Electronic Government Project of the São Paulo State Government.
