In this way, one of the mechanisms to leverage and intensify researches and technology in this sector is the definition of a new structure for Agriculture National Research System - NARS, currently known as Agriculture Innovation System - IAS. Considering this scenario, the main goal of this article is to present a recent initiative based on cooperative arrangement: Agtech Valley, located in the city of Piracicaba, state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. This experience has on its core values innovation, entrepreneurship and cooperation as elements that leverage science, technology and agricultural innovation, gathering relevant stakeholders in favor of the system restructuring: the private sector, universities and society. The second goal is to grant visibility to Agtech Valley initiative, not only for its valuable innovative an cooperative adding considering the current economic crisis, but also for it’s challenging goals for the future that, if archived, may generate broad gains to the agriculture sector in local sphere and national sphere.
