Resumo
This research report aims the study of the relation among consumer protection, regulation and antitrust in three infrastructure sectors of the Brazilian economy: telecommunication, electricity and watering services. Section I of this report presents a synthetic description of the three sectors under analysis. Section II discusses theoretical aspects of the relation among consumer protection, regulation and antitrust. Section III presents the Brazilian experience of telecommunication, electricity and watering services regulation. Section IV analyses recent evidences of consumer's complaints. Section V discusses alternative institutional configuration among consumer protection, regulation and antitrust, suggesting an interpretation of the current institutional configuration among these functions in the three analyzed infrastructure sectors.
