This exploratory research focused on an investigation of the emotional factors that cause Brazilian sector employees to perform their tasks well. A case study was carried out using Brazilian Social and Development Bank employees. The research was conducted based on previously established guidelines, garnered from the review of literature and the assumptions derived by the researcher. A total of 13 people participated in the study. Based on the analysis of information gathered from the interviews, it was possible to verify that the main factor, that caused an employee from the company researched to remain motivated and to perform well in his tasks, was his desire to grow in the company and move up the corporate latter, thus improving his career potential. The participants stated that the existence of a good organizational climate was due to the fact that the employees were willing to work with the company for a long time. Many of the participants expressed their pride in being a part of the company. For some, being public employees who were contributing to the growth of Brazil, was a source of pride.
