The body of theories on Absorptive Capacity is about information management. Search in bibliographic databases shows that this field of study evolved especially on process based models. In order to ease the use of concepts that arise from this theory by applying the variety of data analysis techniques available, it was identified the need to propose a scale for the constructs in model variance. Among the various constructs, we chose the proposal of operationalization on Recognize the Value, the first construct of the group of theories on Absorptive Capacity. This study has three main chapters presented in scholarly articles format. The first article proposes a scale for the construct ‘Recognize the Value’, the second brings the analysis of its antecedents, and the third tests it in an integrated way with other constructs of Absorptive Capacity. This work aims to contribute to the theoretical understanding of Absorptive Capacity theory, also to the development of other studies by applying the developed construct, and to facilitate management by adoption of procedures that effectively enable the company to recognize the value in a certain opportunity.
