Resumo
This dissertation analyzes the main papers and discussions regarding companies’ capital structure. The aim is to identify what influences the companies’ financing decisions. After reviewing the theoretic and empirical jobs, a study analyzes the Brazilian industrial firms with public traded shares. The study goal is to identify the main financial sources, the determinants of the capital structure choice and the sector’s influence on the results. Whenever possible, results are compared to previous works, as well as with theoretical assumptions.
