Resumo
Public investments in education are extremely important in the economy and for the development of countries. This thesis intends to evaluate the impact of the Fundeb in the performance of public schools’ pupils on ENEM. Through the difference in difference method, considering private schools as control group and public schools as the treatment group, this work used ENEM`s microdata from 2001 to 2008, 2009, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 in order to measure the impact of Fundeb in the treatment group. It is extremely relevant to highlight that since 2009 ENEM became the main way of getting into public universities, which could negatively impact the difference between both groups, considering that private school benefits from better resources to prepare their students for the test. Through the difference-in0diference method we could verify that the difference between public and private schools` students score in the test has been reduced after Fundeb implementation.
