Resumo
This paper work, stands for to be a contribution, in the way to stimulate arousing interests atentions in the preschool cognitional development area, in order to not decline from the major problem found in our society: the difficulties faced by population with low income tax in the preschool early years. In this period, performance is one of the factors which determinate the academic future, therefore, it is necessary to define clearly the understanding of the social environment, making it possible to plan interventions which result in social promotion, particulary for the underprivileged classes and groups. The foregoing line of reasoning oriented the effort undertaken in this study, aiming to understand intellectual variation as a function of socio-economic level of preschool children, in addition to the interelationships variables. Taking a brief review of the major concepts on intelligence as a starting point, the study tried to interpret these contributions and their consequences on the pragmatic level. Factor analytic studies inspired on the measurement instruments of D. Wechsler were highIighted through the evaluation of the factors most frequently found. The central aspect of the study is represented by use of the WISC instrument and a socio-economic questionaire. A tentative factor analysis of the data indicated four factors interpretation was developed as a secondary topic in the study.
