This paper aims to analyze, from a historical perspective, the Brazilian government’s strategy for international projection from a political and economic standpoints, based on the internationalization of national companies. Much has been discussed about the role played by Brazilian companies in positioning Brazil within the geoeconomics spectrum in alignment with the current administration’s objectives, but there is limited literature on the ability to replicate this strategy in today’s global context. In this sense, this work presents a historical overview of the strategy from the first Lula administration (2003), through the governments of Dilma Rousseff and Michel Temer, and up to the end of Jair Bolsonaro's presidency (2022), and analyzes the possible outcomes for Brazilian foreign policy, as well as potential differences in strategy under the current administration. The research methodology combines a literature review with the construction of prospective scenarios through a SWOT analysis.
