Resumo
This document reports the results of research performed with Volkswagen Brazil, particularly the Resende bus and trucks plant which adopts the so called modular consortium model. The objective of the research is to identify the characteristics, justification, potential and limitations of the modular consortium. Literature review was done and field research performed. The conclusions shed some light on a subject which has been talked about in the literature, but not always rigorously.
