Resumo
This dissertation aims at examining the development of birth concept in children at different age levels. This study departed from the fact of very scarce information on the subject. Instead of a cognitive approach of infant development which was first attempted at, a psychodynamic one was used because of cultural and socio-emotional contaminations. An exploratory study supports the hypothesis of a direct function between the development of this concept and chronological age. The results are analyzed quantitative and qualitatively and an explanation is advanced to explain both the 'prise de conscience' of the above mentioned concept and its distortions due to emotional factors involved.
