Resumo
The purpose of this research project is to examine how the changes in the labor market can impact Brazilian companies with respect to the skills that they require oftheir employees in a post-industrial society. The survey identifies the professional skills ('competencies') required in large companies in Brazil by looking at the changes in skiIls demanded that have occurred in the human resources departments. The study shows that there is a significant effect in the original characteristics, in the post-industrial society such as knowledge, production of ideas, etc. in the human resources departments when they recruit their professional employees. The universe of the field research is composed of large private companies, universities, university centers, students and professionals in seven metropolitan regions of Brazil that have the largest percentage of formal employment in the country. The sample size will consist of 367 persons, to be interviewed in 59 companies, 57 universities, 127 professionals and 124 students. Based on the results of the fie1d research, the current leveis of skiIls of the professionals acquired in their academic study wiIl then be compared to the levei of skiIls required by the large companies as they recruit human resources. According to the parameters set for this study, by using the skills required, the results will show how the characteristics of post-industrial society influence companies in their search for human resources, and their requirements for professional and personal skills.
