Resumo
This work aimed to demonstrate the importance of accountability in management of public and social policies. Through the Brazilian historical evolution, the tract of democracy and social participation in public actions was verified, considering the control, accountability and transparency in the development and access to information of state public policies. For this, democratic controls by means of the instruments applied to some similar public facilities were assessed. Public facilities used to compose the analysis: Sabina Escola Parque do Conhecimento, Museu Catavento, Plug Minas and Aquário Municipal de Santos, located, respectively, in the cities of Santo André, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Santos. From an investigative study on the equipment, there were some thoughts to contribute in strengthening accountability in public administration.
